Poetry and Short Story Competition Award Ceremony
Puerto Sotogrande has announced the winners of the VI Poetry and III Short Story Competitions, key events for regional literary talent. The awards ceremony is on 11th October at 5:30 pm, outside the Port Warehouse near the KE cafeteria in Sotogrande Marina.
The event's success is due to a jury of renowned writers from Campo de Gibraltar and Western Costa del Sol, including Juan Emilio Ríos, Carmen Sánchez Melgar, Natalia Angulo, Mª Ángeles Chozas, and Eduardo Sáenz de Varona.
Led by Nuria Ruiz Fernández, president of the jury, the competition benefits from her literary expertise. She has published six books and organised cultural events.
Winners in the VI Poetry Competition include Mª Mercedes Sánchez Pérez, Mª Coronada Jiménez Muñoz, Mª Dolores García García, and Eugenio Barriola Armida. In the Short Story category, Juan Carlos Pérez López won first prize, with Ricardo Cano García as runner-up.
Prizes reflect the support from sponsors promoting culture. Both first prizes include a night at Casa Flotante courtesy of Little París. Other prizes are a dinner at Midas restaurant, a boat trip from Alavela Yachting, and a sailing tour with Fundación Navega's Max Mar.
Eli Ramos thanked participants and jury members and commended Nuria Ruiz Fernández for her dedication. He invited all to the ceremony, open to the public and media without capacity limits.
