Ángel Hidalgo, Adrián Otaegui, Rasmus Højgaard, Matteo Manassero, and Niklas Nørgaard, each a DP World Tour champion, are set to compete at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters from 17th to 20th October.
These five will be joined by two-time major champion Jon Rahm, Rolex Series titleholders Victor Perez, Thorbjørn Olesen, and Rafa Cabrera Bello, as well as PGA Tour winner Matt Wallace, in the penultimate event of the DP World Tour's "Back 9," the crucial phase for securing a spot in the Tour's Play-Offs.
Hidalgo stunned his nation by beating Rahm in a play-off to win the 2024 Open de España. Returning to the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, where his 2022 fourth-place finish at Real Club Valderrama secured his card, he now builds on his Acciona Open de España victory.
Otaegui claimed his fifth DP World Tour title at the Volvo China Open, coming from five strokes behind to win by one. This was his first win since the 2022 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters.
Højgaard, with a fifth title at the Amgen Irish Open, finished just one shot behind McIlroy. Ranking fourth in the Race to Dubai Rankings, he aims to join his twin Nicolai on the PGA Tour in 2025.
Manassero, after 11 years, won his fifth DP World Tour title at the Jonsson Workwear Open. Winning twice on the European Challenge Tour, he regained his DP World Tour card. He holds the record as the youngest DP World Tour winner at the 2010 Castelló Masters.
Nørgaard made a notable debut on the DP World Tour by winning the Betfred British Masters. Turning professional in 2015, he progressed to the Challenge Tour, earning a DP World Tour card in 2021. He is ranked eighth in the Race to Dubai Rankings.
