Blue flag beaches in the Sotogrande area

For nearly four decades, the prestigious Blue Flag has been awarded by the European Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) on sustainable beaches, ports, and boats. This esteemed recognition is earned through rigorous annual inspections and audits by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC). Municipalities that demonstrate dedication to environmental information and education, water quality, environmental management, safety and services are honoured with this distinction.

Cala Sardina
Cala Sardina in San Roque, Cádiz offers stunning panoramic views of the Rock of Gibraltar and Africa. Amenities include walkways, showers, disabled parking, amphibious chairs, litter bins, daily cleaning, and shaded areas.

Playa de Torreguadiaro
Located between Torreguadiaro and the prestigious Port of Sotogrande, lies the Torreguadiaro beach. Stretching over a kilometre in length and featuring a width of fifty metres, this beach is renowned for its blend of fine sand and pebbles. With convenient access and ample parking facilities, visitors can easily indulge in the culinary delights offered by the exclusive port of Sotogrande just a stone's throw away.

Getares
This beach in Algeciras stands out as a premier destination. Alongside El Rinconcillo, it holds a coveted spot as a beloved summer hotspot. This semi-urban area features two distinct areas: a larger section surrounded by a promenade and residential developments, and a smaller, more intimate stretch in San García. The larger area has a wide selection of bars and restaurants offering panoramic views of the Rock of Gibraltar. A notable highlight awaits at the end of this beach, where a scenic spot with palm trees and a wooden viewpoint, accessible via a bridge that protects the dunes, showcases an intriguing piece of history. This old World War II bunker once formed part of a protective wall stretching from the Guadiaro River to Conil.

La Alcaidesa
Between the towns of San Roque and La Línea, this beach spans four kilometres and the shores of La Hacienda and Punta Mala flank this coastal haven. Affectionately known as El Balneario, it features velvety dark sand that entices beachgoers. It is surrounded by charming beach bars and vibrant urban developments,  making it a top choice for many travellers seeking sun, sea, and relaxation.
